Cinco de Mayo 2011 Heat Transfer Vinyl

I did my first vinyl heat transfer today and I'm loving it, I see a lot more tee shirts in my future. We go to the Cinco de Mayo festivities that a local Restaurant has every year and my Son wanted these tee shirts with this saying made, it's something him and the owner are always shouting to each other. So I designed it in Make the Cut, I'm very pleased with how they came out. Using the different features in MTC really made it so easy to do, I wanted to chop part of the hat and world so I used the boolean join feature, just awesome, Design Studio, Gypsy or CCR doesn't come close to this software there is just no end to what you can do with it.

I used Thermoflex Plus Heat Vinyl in Red, Apple Green and White. I had the pressure and blade on the Cricut set to 3 and used the extreme speed in MTC, came out perfect for the kiss cut.

Easter Basket and Carrots

I found this website that had an adorable fence basket that you cut out by hand and put the pieces together, I brought the pieces into MTC and put them together in there. I think it came out adorable, I added the MTC file. The layers of the fence and grass are on the second page as is the handle. I also added the MTC file for the carrot boxes, there is 6 carrots on the page, they are about 4" long, I put the tags on the second page. I put M&M's in the carrot boxes and kisses in the eggs.

Cupcake Box for Four MTC & SVG File

I wanted a box that would hold 4 cupcakes, I found a couple, but I figured I'd make one myself, it's the best way to learn new software. I'm very please with how this came out, Make the Cut software is just awesome, it makes creating cut files such a pleasure. I added both the MTC and SVG files if anyone would like to download it. There are score lines but you don't have to use them, just turn off the eye in MTC. Check the notes in the file for the measurements on where to score. For the SVG I added a txt file with notes. I used clear wrap I had bought from the dollar store for the covering over the top cutout.

I also added the link for the pumpkin cupcakes and cream cheese icing recipe, http://patentandthepantry.wordpress.com/2008/10/22/pumpkin-cupcakes-with-cream-cheese-icing/, they were delicious.

The pictures came out a little on the green side, plus the box is green, it's a real gloomy day today, even under the light the gloom is showing through, LOL!!

I added the flowers and tag in the file also.

The insert has the finger holes which makes it easier to pick up the cupcakes.

Here is a picture without the cupcakes.

Birthday Surprise MTC File

Hi Everyone, I thought this would be a cute children's birthday card, I created all pieces in Make the Cut and download the balloons and giraffe from the mtc website, it's so cute!! The first page of the file is the design, the second and third is the cut files and the forth is a print and cut, very simple.

Hat Box

While searching through the web for a hat box, I found Penny Duncan's website, WOW what wonderful projects. Well she had a hat box, not exactly what I was looking for but way better, she had a svg file for it too, yeah!! Well here is my first attempt, I actually ended up recreating my own template in mtc, I had seen another hat box so I kind of incorporated both into one. Here is the link to Penny's hat box http://pennyduncancreations.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html and if you go down further on that page there is another one with the template, both hat boxes are just beautiful!! Here is the direct link to her hat box file, http://cid-599a4ab7197c18bb.office.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/PDC%20CUT%20FILES%20%5E5All%20Formats%5E6/Boxes/PDC%20Hatbox%205-13-2010.

Celebrate Today

This card can be used for any spring/summer occasion, I used the lattice feature in the Make the Cut software and joined it to both the card and the front layer. I'm still learning this software so I can't give you a step by step yet, sometimes it's trial and error, but a lot of fun creating. The butterfly I downloaded from the MTC website, it's 4 layers and makes a beautiful butterfly, I think out of all the butterflies I have ever cut this is my favorite. The flowers are from the Kalocsai Flower Font, I love this font. I also used the cuttlebug destressed stripes embossing folder on the green front. I added the MTC file, the first page is the design of the card, I always do a rough layout, then the next two pages are the cut files. I may add a cut inside behind the lattice.
