Lovin' Spring Holiday Cards

I really wasn't sure about this cartridge when I first bought it, but I have all the seasonal mini's since they first came out, so I didn't want to not buy it. Well I'm really enjoying the simplicity of this cartridge and I just love the stain glass look I use on these cuts. Here are two more cards I created, very simple, very quick, with packaging acrylic/acetate and markers. I cut the acrylic, glued it on the back and color with permanent markers, (I used bic mark it's, you have to color quickly), on the backside of the acrylic.

I welded and used hide contour with my gypsy a cut from the Just Because Cards cartridge and the luck of the irish cut.

I used the hide contour again to get rid of the corner cuts and the card outline and then welded to combine the cut.

Stain Glass Card

Hi everyone, here is a card I made using the Spring Holiday Cards cartridge. This cartridge is great for making quick cards, all I did here was cut the front and background piece, I glued a piece of acrylic/acetate on the back of the front cut and colored with markers to give it a stain glass look.

A Cup of Tea

Hi everyone, I made this Easter card with a touch of tea in mind. I used the tea card on A Child's Year cartridge at 4 1/2". I cut the card in half and glued the sides and bottom leaving the slit to insert a tea bag at the top. I stamped and colored and then ran the teacup through the cuttlebug. The spoon was half cricut and half me, I used the spoon from ACY, but I had to do my own alterations. I'm still continuing to use my scraps, yeah!!

You pull the spoon to get the tea bag out.

Pressed Flowers

Hi everyone, here is a card using the pressed flowers technique I saw at splitcoaststampers, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/fauxpressedflowers. I used the flower from the Mothers Day Bouquet cartridge and stamped the middle with SU greenhouse garden stamp. I put the card together, ran it through the cuttlebug, added ribbon and Happy Easter. I'm really do good here with getting rid of these scraps.

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone, I love the SU stamp set greenhouse garden, it really works well with some of the flowers from the cricut cartridges. Here I used one of the stamps and embossed on a flower from the Give a Hoot cartridge. I'm trying to use up some of my scraps, so for the background I just used plain paper, I stamped and inked it.

Mothers Day Bouquet

Hi everyone, here is a card using one of the flowers from the Mothers Day Bouquet cartridge. I stamped the inside of the flowers and the stem, glued the flowers on and embossed the whole thing with the cuttlebug using a fiskar texture plate. I pulled the petals back up alittle, I got the idea from the splitcoaststampers site.

Scrappy Elephant

Hi everyone, Here is another patchwork I made with scraps. I used a 1" square punch this time. I punched out 5 different patterns of about 5 pieces each. The elephant is from the New Arrival cartridge, it's so cute!! With a white gel pen I stitched around each piece and put a pair of wiggle eyes on, then mounted him on a shadow cut. I love how the patchwork comes out.

Ott-lite Craft Caddy Lamp

I'm dragging my scrapbook stuff back out and I wanted to pick up a new lamp, I heard so many good things about the ott-lites that I figured I'd pick one up. I bought the craft caddy, this lamp is awesome, love the removable compartments it has and the natural light is fantastic. Plus it has an outlet in the back of the base, great for my gypsy. Here are two pictures of the lamp.

Here are two photos of a card I made yesterday, the cardstock, ribbon and glitter is red, with the ott-lite it came out red, but with my old lamp the photo came out pink. Both photos were taking in the same spot.

Another Valentine's Day Card

Hi everyone, I made another Valentine's Day card using the hearts from the Wedding cartridge and the top note cut from Storybook. I saw Kim Cagle's video on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnPUBvGJLxM, she calls it the Patchwork Quilt Top Note Die Card. What a wonderful way to use your scraps and her cards look fantastic. I don't have the Top Note Die, so I used the cut on Storybook that looks like it. I cut squares of scraps at 1 1/4", about 5 each of 4 different patterns. I put a 5.5 x 4.25 piece of paper through my xyron, and put the scraps on it just like Kim did. I used my gypsy and placed the paper where it would cut. Depending on your paper you may have to multi-cut, I put it on 2 for the paper I used. I really like how it turned out. I think I'll be using a lot of my scraps now!!

Valentine's Day Card for my Sweetie

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I created anything, I started going on the cricut message boards again and just couldn't resist pulling out my stuff. I haven't used the cricut cartridge Tie the Knot yet so I figured this corset would make such a cute valentine easel card. I welded two shadow cuts together with my gypsy, very simple. If you would like I added the gypsy file for download.

I cut the envelope at 5.75, the end is off the page, but it folds inside so you don't see it's cutoff.
