Silhouette Success Challenge

Hello there, I've been trying to get myself motivated to craft again and I think a challenge is exactly what I need right now. Over at Silhouette Success's Facebook group, the challenge is to use this week's free design from the Silhouette Design Store and no new craft supplies, just the supplies you have already. Here is a link to this week's freebie Thinking of You.

It's a very simple card, I probably wouldn't have downloaded the design but the challenge inspired me to make something with it. This is what I came up with, just made slight changes to it. I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Hello Friend - Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit

Playing with my Simon Says April Card Kit and made this for the Monday Challenge. Had to use acetate, vellum, or anything you can think of that is a little transparent so I used some vellum and heat embossed with the stamps from the kit.  I stamped and cutout the pieces with my Brother ScanNCut2, love that machine, took no time at all to cut the flowers and leaves out perfectly. I used some Distress Inks on watercolor paper for the background, love the softness with the vellum overlay.

Warm Wishes - Simon Says Stamps Peace Love and Joy

I think Simon Says Stamps has adorable stamp sets, I used here one of their newest sets Peace Love and Joy.  It's such a cute set, I picked it up along with Simon and Dexter Christmas.

I used versamark and clear embossing powder and cut all the pieces out on my Brother ScanNcut2.  I colored all the pieces with Prismacolor Pencils.  The background was created using the 3 snowflake stamps in the set with versamark, white embossing powder and some distress Ink.  For the snow banks I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders.

Here's my Witches Broom Stick Treat...

I pieced together the cute little witch from the Chibi Witch and Dracula set in SSDE, (Silhouette Studio Designer Edition) and printed it out, then did a scan n cut on my Brother ScanNCut 2 machine, love it!  You can do the same thing on the Cameo or Cricut but I love not wasting paper with registration makes, this machine is so much faster to use and the cuts are very clean.  I used the  Broom Candy Stick file with a pencil as the handle with some treats inside.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Best Witches set and the labels are both from the Mini Tags 2 die set.

National Scrapbook Day 2014!

I don't do scrapbook pages which is so weird because that's the reason I bought a cutting machine in the first place.  I thought I'd get all my photos together and create some pages, but instead I started doing cards and 3D projects.  One of these days I'm definitely going to start, just really need to get my photos all scanned and printed out.

Well here is a digital one I did for today's Echo Park challenge using their Photo Freedom Fun in the Sun collection.  I actually did this in SSDE, it's truly amazing what can really be done in that program besides just cutting from it.  This was done very quickly and I did a print to PDFCreator and saved as a jpg.

This is my youngest son Willie in all the photos, it's from a couple of years ago on a family vacation in the Outer Banks, we rented a house with some friends and had such a wonderful time.  My husband Al is with him in the top-right photo and the two others are our friends children.

The cool cats set from Peachy Keen Stamps is so cute and I love that you can get the coordinating svg files also, which I used for the cat and scarf.  The sentiment is also from the set.
I added the Santa hat from the Silhouette Online Store.
I used some Candy Cane Trendy Twine and the digital paper is Bo Bunny's Noel, I'm submitting this to the Peachy Keen Photo Inspiration Challenge and I thought the colors went pretty good.

Unity {be inspired} Challenge Hip Hop

Hello Everyone and Happy Thursday!!
I'm so excited to be joining in on this months
and the release of two new stamp sets by
Phyllis Harris!

If you haven't already, make sure you head on over to Unity's blog for all the info and join in the fun!
Here are the three challenge choices, a color inspired photo, card sketch and layout sketch!

For my project I chose the card sketch and also used the colors from the photo.

I love these butterflies, they're from the Moment by Moment stamp set along with the sentiment.  I really wanted the butterflies and sentiment to pop so I used black soot distress ink and embossed, then colored the butterflies with distress markers.  The wood grain border and flowers are both from the February 2013 KOTM, Let Love Grow.  I used weathered wood distress ink for a more subtle look, my main focus was the butterflies and sentiment.  I added some Orangesicle Trendy Twine and a cute little button.

I'm so excited to show you these new Unity stamp sets by Phyllis Harris, aren't they just the sweetest, I love them both!
All  Phyllis Harris stamps are 40% off  from
March 14 - 18th.

Here's a card I made using The Heart of a BBF stamp.

Thanks for stopping by, next up is Laurel, hop on over to see what she has created for us!!

ABAC Challenge #4

The sponsor for the 4th Challenge at Anything But A Card is Lili of the Valley and they are giving away a $20.00 gift certificate, YAY!!

Here is my Design Team project for this challenge, a double test tube Halloween treat holder that glows!!  I used the tall box from SVG Cuts One-Piece Boxes kit and substitute the flower cutout for a spider web and covered it inside with vellum.  I joined/merged two 1" circles on the lid to hold the tubes.  For the back I duplicated the box and cut the back panel out and unioned it to the grave bottom from the Gimme Candy Boxes kit, then glued it to the back of the box, (it totally looks like one piece).  For the grave front I did a print and cut.

The battery tealight is placed sideways in order for the test tubes to fit in, it works great!!

The stamps are from Unity's Too Cute to Spook set.
The Witch Hazel flair is from Paper Play Studio.
The spider is from SVG Cuts Party on Elm Street kit.
The Twine is Orange Licorice Trendy Twine.
Pattern Paper is Echo Parks Chillingsworth Manor digital paper.
Martha Stewart Test Tubes.

I think these would look great for a Halloween party all lit up on a table for your guests to take home!!

Don't forget to enter, just remember anything but a card!

I added this to the linky party over at Craft-O-Maniac, stop on over and see all the other wonderful entries.
